See what our fans are saying about my Sicilian kitchen!

I tried my first recipe in My Sicilian Cookbook, the Artichoke Soup. I loved the simplicity in the directions, with fresh ingredients. In a half hour I enjoyed a delicious homemade soup, the mascarpone made it so nice and creamy. Can’t wait to try another recipe!

Good luck!!! This book is a winner , I cried reading all the dedications and family history. what a great legacy that will be passed down in your
family for a lifetime. Your family must be so proud of you.

I recently received my copy of “My Sicilian Kitchen” cookbook and love it!  I’ve made three recipes thus far and found them to be easy to understand and create.  The family photos and history are charming and reveal the authenticity behind the recipes.  Our household favorite dish so far…Mama Bilo’s Meatballs!

Mama Bilo’s Minestrone Soup! This recipe is special to me because it’s one of the few dinners my entire family loves. I can feel good about serving it because it’s full of nutrition, low in fat and very hearty. This soup is warming for both the body and soul. Get your kitchen smelling great and MAKE IT SOON!

My Sicilian Kitchen is the perfect addition to my cook book collection and is my go to cook book for Italian cuisine. Fresh, delicious and easy to follow this book if full of timeless recipes that my family will enjoy for years to come.

I love all of the recipes but the recipe I use the most is Angelo’s Tomato Sauce. It is the perfect base for many Italian dishes or is delicious on its own for a simple meal.

“My Sicilian Kitchen” cookbook by Linda Brechtel is a wonderful cookbook filled with so many delicious recipes. I’ve already made the Osso Buco and Lemon Risotto for a dinner party and received rave reviews from all our guests! I’m looking forward to trying many more of these very authentic recipes. Also enjoyed the family history forward, as it reminded me so much of my own family.

Ravioli with pesto AND marinara AND mascarpone?! Yes, yes and yes! This combination truly has it all. This recipe makes what might be an average meal into a special, memorable feast. Definitely substitute pumpkin seeds for the pine nuts - it’s subtle, but adds so much to the dish. If you make this for guests or to bring to a party, you can count on it becoming the dish people know you for and ask you to bring again and again.

After traveling throughout Italy over the years, Italian food is so beloved to me that you’d think I had a grandmother back in the old country, I didn’t, but Linda did and she is sharing wonderful recipes that were passed onto this granddaughter from her lovely Sicilian Nona. If you are looking for authentic, sophisticated, delicious recipes, you will find specialties that define Linda’s family and their region. Cooks will delight in the easy to follow and beautifully photographed recipes throughout the pages of My Sicilian Kitchen. Everything I have made has been superb! The meatballs are my favorite go-to recipe for entertaining, whether it be for a large crowd or a small family gathering. I’ve read many meatball recipes that claim to be the best, but this one is the real deal - you must try them for yourself! It’s amazing that Linda is sharing her family recipes, and I sure am glad she did!

My Sicilian Kitchen is a very special cookbook. The book begins with an introduction followed by the story of the Bilo family and their love of Sicily, family and food. It truly sets the tone of the book by sharing their history and their love of Sicilian cuisine. It has all of the things that you would want from a good cookbook - straight forward recipes, beautiful pictures and easy instructions. But this book offers so much more - you can really feel the love and legacy of this family as you turn each page. My favorite recipe that I’ve made many times is the Chicken Picatta. It is so fresh with just the right amount of lemon. But every recipe I’ve tried has been outstanding. This is a wonderful book to add to your collection or to give as a special gift.

I LOVE My Sicilian Kitchen! I have made so many amazing meals from this cookbook. Everything I make is quickly becoming requested family favorites. Besides tasting amazing, the best part about the cook book is the easy to follow recipes. I am able to follow along with ease and create a delicious meal that my family loves. My favorite recipe is pasta sauces and meatballs. I make them both all the time and receive many compliments.
